Suffs is a musical written by Shaina Taub, based on the American women’s suffrage movement, focusing primarily on the historical events leading up to the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1920 that gave women the right to vote. The musical tells the stories of the women who led the effort over many years, despite numerous setbacks and lack of support among the men in political office.

Praise for Paonia Players

“My kids spent many years working with Merrily in Paonia Players and it made a huge difference in their personal development and in their ability to just be in the world. Built confidence, and gave them so many skills that they're still using to this day. My son is pursuing a career in acting due to Merrily's encouragement. I have a daughter who's minoring in theater because of the time that she spent with Merrily. All of my kids can speak better, sing better, dance better and are better human beings because of the time they spent with Merrily. Merrily is a deeply sensitive, talented, and focused performance professional and brings so many other tools of human development to the table.”
Liz

“Paonia Players gave my daughter a place to be her true dramatic, creative self! She was in many plays over the years, which boosted her confidence. Merrily even gave her the opportunity to be a Director in high school. Now she is in New York pursuing her dreams and having the time of her life. If your child has a dramatic streak... nurture it with Paonia Players!”
